a quarter century me

I spent a perfect 25th birthday here in Seoul, surrounded by wonderful new friends. Since my birthday happened to be on a Sunday, Julia my room mate, organised a big dinner for me. After that we went for partying in Hongdae to kick start the day as a 25 year old woman. We partied like teenagers until early in the morning in a club called Cocoon. The club is famous for being very loud which it was indeed. I could feel my heart beating to the rhythm in my chest and my hair moving with the bass #nojoke! :)

The party night left it's mark on me, so on Sunday I spent a comfy day in the city with the girls. We went for brunch in an amazing place just a few minutes away from university. The food was mouth watering! After that I decided to go for a haircut which was quite an experience. The hair-salons here in Seoul are perfectly well organised. You arrive at a hotel like reception - then you wait in a café until it's your turn - after a few minutes of waiting you get covered in a Kimono style bathrobe - then you go for the hair wash in a spa like room with an assistant - and then finally you meet your hairstylist for the cut. I was very happy with their job and this whole service only cost me about $25.

After some grocery shopping in town we went for another great dinner in Sinchon an area very close to my university. We had one of my favourite dishes, Korean pancakes, and for desert a friend treated me with the best strawberry cake in town. My birthday weekend was full of things I like to do most - friends, food, party and beauty treats, I really got spoiled. Not to forget, it is cherry blossom season in Seoul, look how beautiful these trees were for my birthday... it's the little things that make life big. Thanks everyone for being part of it!
