myeongdong, cheongye steam & itaewon

This Saturday we went to Myeongdong for a shopping day. When I was in Seoul 3 years ago I immediately fell in love with this district. It is so trendy, fashionable and full of new things to discover. Luckily nothing has changed, Myeongdong is as vibrant and interesting as ever. The district seems to be very popular among the Japanese and is famous for noodle soups, which we had for dinner of course.

At night we went for a walk at Cheongye stream. It is a river which was hidden by an overpass until 2005. Today it is a wonderful place to go for a romantic walk in the middle of the hectic city of Seoul. It's fascinating how peaceful it is down there, while you're surrounded by skyscrapers.

To finish off this perfect day we went to Itaewon for some Cass, Korean beer. Itaewon is a place full of fancy restaurants and bars with relatively high prices. Probably because it's famous among tourists and many restaurants serve international dishes that you wouldn't find a lot in Seoul. However it is a great place to go out at night, it's full of young people and stylish things to see. The district reminded me a lot of Camden Town in London.
